About DASK Music

DASK is an audio electronic engineer from the UK. His musical style ranges from Cinematic to Neoclassical. Major influences include Tangerine Dream, Erik Wøllo, Steve Roach, Vangelis, Hans Zimmer and modern cinematic scores.

My real name is David. My introduction to all this began at age 15, listening to Jean-Michel Jarre Concerts in China on a friend’s Hi-Fi after school. That moment sparked a dual obsession, the emotional power of instrumental and electronic music, alongside the pursuit of high-fidelity sound. This then led me to a career in electronic engineering, building my own amplifiers and vacuum tube audio systems to better understand the reproduction and physics of audio.

The urge to build audio equipment eventually turned into the urge to build and explore sounds. While my early work was rooted in the electronic sequences of Tangerine Dream, my recent compositions have moved toward a more Cinematic and Neoclassical space focusing on human emotion.

I don’t know where this journey ends. My music never stays exactly the same and can shift between dark and light moments, 100% human created. The album covers are the work of my own photography and are again, fully human made.

BMI Registered. Mastered for high-fidelity audio systems.
