My real name is David. My introduction to electronic music started when I called at a friends house after school, at about 15 years old. My friend Phil had an home made pair of speakers with a Tandy Realistic receiver and turntable. He played Concerts in China by Jean-Michel Jarre. That set in motion a love for electronic based instrumental music and Hi-Fi. I later discovered Tangerine Dream and other Berlin School artists. My pursuit of Hi-Fi grew stronger and this led me down the route of building my own equipment such as amplifiers and vacuum tube based systems.
I eventually became more interested in synthesisers and creating music of my own, trying to emulate Berlin School artists such as Tangerine Dream and Redshift. I started to record my own music but usually discarded it. This changed with the album Abiogenesis. I recorded a track and unusual for me, I saved it, and carried on that way. It now seems appropriate that I called the album Abiogenesis, since this means a beginning, even though that was not my inspiration for the album title.
I don’t know where this journey ends. My music never stays exactly the same and can shift between dark and light moments, always being created from and driven by my own emotions and life path. <David>
